Many of us indulge in cooking as a hobby, passion, or a leisurely task. However, food has taken a central place in our lives that brings people together, translating every engagement with it into happiness. I would say it is one of the most versatile elements in our lives. Any occasion is incomplete without a special-dish. Imagine what Ganesh Chaturthi would be without modak or Christmas without cakes? While India has a rich diversity of culinary traditions; television and internet has transformed palates beyond and more. Every region has a unique food philosophy which is shaped by different factors such as nutrition, availability of local ingredients and many other refinements. Each dish is unique in terms of ingredients, textures, flavours; yet, the cooking process almost often starts with one key ingredient – Cooking Oil! This festive season, to give you a perfect start, we have curated a cook book and christened it as “Sahi Shuruaat”. It is a compendium of 50 unique creative expressions of professional chefs and culinary students. The idea is to periodically bring to you, various genres of food recipes in a simple manner. Ones that you can easily experiment with your friends and family and enjoy the togetherness. This first edition of the Godrej Veg Oils - “Sahi Shuruaat” cook book is the result of collaboration with Chef Kumresh Naidu, Chef Aditi Mehta, Chef Kamlesh Salve and food aficionado, Utpal Khot who have managed to document 50 recipes from talented professionals from the food industry. I truly appreciate their passion! Whether you don the apron every day or over the weekend, we hope these vegetarian recipes enable you to serenade all senses and elevate your joy of cooking and delighting friends and family.
