Double the festive joy with a healthy delicacy

Dates have been used as a natural sugar substitute for decades. They are also delicious and easy to work with, especially to make mithai. Don’t believe us? Try this super easy Dry Fruits Khajoor Barfi recipe from team Godrej Appliances. This festive season make a healthy choice.
Dry Fruits Khajoor Barfi


Dates 2 cups
Dry coconut, grated ½ cup
Ghee 2 tbsp
Poppy seeds, roasted 2 tbsp
Cashews, roasted and sliced ½ cup
Almonds, roasted and sliced ½ cup
Walnuts, roasted ½ cup
Pistachios (sliced) 2 tbsp
Chironji 2 tbsp
Nutmeg powder ½ tsp
Cardamom, peeled and crushed 6


Chop the dates into small pieces and discard their seeds. Add the chopped dates, dry coconut, poppy seeds, chironji and ghee in a microwave oven-safe bowl and mix well. Start cooking them in the microwave by selecting micro mode high power and set the timer for 2 minutes. Take the bowl out and add all the remaining ingredients. Mix them well and cook again for 1 minute. Remove and transfer the mixture on a plate.

Now, grease your hands with oil and pinch some mixture. Roll it out into a cylindrical shape by pressing it with both the hands. Coat the barfi with some sliced pistachios and place it on a plate. Likewise, prepare the rest of the barfis until the mixture is utilised completely.

Wrap each piece of barfi in a separate aluminium foil and place them all in the refrigerator for 2 hours to set. After 2 hours, unwrap the barfis and cut each of them into pieces of ½ cm thickness. Place them on a plate. Delicious dry fruits khajoor barfi is now ready to be served.
